Privacy policy

Napa Autopro - Northside Auto operates this website and the repair shop at 3005 12 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB T1H 5K9. When this policy says we or us, that is who it means. We are an Alberta business, so Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act sets the rules for how we handle personal information, and this policy describes what we actually do with it.

What we collect

We collect what we need to answer you and to work on your vehicle, and not much else. That usually means:

• Your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message, if you use the contact form on this site.
• Your phone number, if you call us or leave it with us.
• The details you enter when you book online, which go to our booking provider rather than through this website.
• Details about your vehicle and the work you are asking about, including the notes, photos, and inspection results tied to a repair.
• Basic technical information your browser sends when you visit: the pages you look at, the type of device you are on, and an approximate location.

This website takes no payments, so no card or banking information is collected here. There is no login and no account to create.

Why we collect it

• To reply to your message and answer your question.
• To book an appointment and carry out the work you approve.
• To keep a service history for your vehicle, which is also what a warranty claim is checked against.
• To see which pages of this site are useful and which are not.

We don't use anything collected here to send you marketing you didn't ask for.

Cookies, analytics, and embedded services

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. It works through cookies and similar technology, and what we look at is traffic patterns rather than individual people. Your browser settings can block or clear cookies at any time.

Two parts of the site are run by other companies and load inside our pages. Online booking is Tekmetric, and the map on the contact page is Google Maps. Both can set their own cookies when you use them, and what they collect is covered by their privacy policies rather than this one.

Who else sees your information

The people who work at the shop, and the companies we rely on to run the site and the booking process. That is the whole list:

• The company that hosts this website.
• The service that delivers contact form messages to us as email.
• Tekmetric, which runs online booking and our shop records.
• Google, for Analytics and for the map on the contact page.

We don't sell personal information, we don't rent it, and we don't hand it to anyone for their own marketing. We may share information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.

Some of these companies handle information outside Canada, mainly in the United States, so it can be subject to the laws of the country it is held in. They are only permitted to use it to provide the service we hired them for. If you want the detail of how we use service providers outside Canada, call or email us and we will go through it with you.

How long we keep it

Repair and inspection records stay on file for as long as they are useful for vehicle history and warranty coverage, and a 36 month warranty is part of why that is not a short period.

Messages you send through the website arrive as email and stay in the shop’s inbox alongside the rest of our correspondence. If you want yours deleted, ask us and we will delete it.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, both on paper at the shop and in the systems we use. No method of storing or sending information is perfectly secure, so we don't claim otherwise.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are not required to keep. You can also tell us to stop contacting you. Call (403) 380-6276 or email service@northsideautopros.com and we will sort it out. If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you can take it to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

This site links out to our financing partner FinanceIt, to NAPA AUTOPRO, to Google Maps, and to our Facebook and Google listings. Once you are on someone else's site, their policy applies, not ours.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date at the top.
